Weasel Works Pop Up

December 14, 2024, 10:00 - 4:00 pm

Gary from Weasel works will be bringing in his NEW yarn bowls - made with actual YARN in resin, with wood trim! You can check out the progression of this project on his social media pages to see how this idea was taken from concept to finished product. He will also have a selection of other yarn bowls, crochet hooks, and shawl pins on hand. Any of these items would make a perfect Christmas gift!

Sarah's Fibre Arts Pop Up

Sarah's makes unique bags that are dual purpose - they can hold projects and notions of all sizes, AND she includes thrifted elements in many of the bags to prevent textiles from going into the landfill. She has project bags from small to large, and notion bags of all sizes, plus specific bags for items like hooks & needles.

Gingersnapthat & Mr. Snapthat Pop Up

January 18, 2025, 10:00 - 4:00 pm

Kim and Colin will be bringing in hand dyed yarn, an assortment of project bags, and other fun items like knitting sweatshirts, yarn bowls and more. They always have something new and exciting up their sleeve, so be sure to check it out!

Knitting

Intermediate Knitting - Level 3: Cabled Hat with Susan Chin

January 16 & 23, 2025, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

We will be knitting a cabled hat where you’ll learn a few ways stitches can be moved around to create cables, learn to look for clues that will help you read your knitting, and what to do when there’s a mistake in the work.

Knitting Your First Sock with Sarah Ross

January 25, February 1, & 8, 2025, 10:00 - 12:00 pm

This is a learn to knit your first sock class. The class is meant for intermediate knitters, and is assumed you already know how to knit, purl, cast on, and knit in the round. You will learn the construction of a sock knit from the cuff down to the toe on double pointed needles.

Beginner Knitting - Level 1 with Susan Chin

February 11 & 18, 2025, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Our two-part introduction to knitting class covers the knit stitch, how to make a slip knot, read a pattern, cast on and bind off.

We’ll discuss what a swatch is, when to knit/crochet a swatch, as well as the kind of information a swatch provides. We’ll also cover how to count and measure gauge from prep to finished project.

Now that you've completed (at minimum) the Beginner levels in Knitting and/or Crochet at Numana Yarns, it's time to start a project. This session is great for those who are comfortable with their basic stitches (sl st, ch, sc, hdc, dc and tr in crochet; k, p, ssk, k2tog, kfb, knitted CO & BO in knitting) and would like some help with a project.

Knit & Crochet Project Class - Tuesday Sessions with Susan Chin

March 15, 22, 29, April 5, & 12, 2025

Now that you've completed (at minimum) the Beginner levels in Knitting and/or Crochet at Numana Yarns, it's time to start a project. This session is great for those who are comfortable with their basic stitches (sl st, ch, sc, hdc, dc and tr in crochet; k, p, ssk, k2tog, kfb, knitted CO & BO in knitting) and would like some help with a project.

Our two-part introduction to crochet class covers a few basic stitches (chain, single crochet, back loop only, front loop only), how to make a slip knot and read a pattern.

Beginner Crochet - Level 2 with Susan Chin

February 6, 13, & 20, 2025, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

This three-part class will build on your crochet skills.

Beginner Crochet - Level 3 with Susan Chin

February 27, 2025, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Now that you know how to work all the basic stitches in crochet, it’s time to learn how to shape your fabric! We’ll teach you some of the common methods to increase and decrease a stitch to change the shape of the crocheted fabric.

Back To Basics: Learn to Spin on a Spindle with Elana Goodfellow

Are you a yarn user who wants to create their own yarn? Are you a wheel spinner who wants something more portable for spinning? Or maybe you know how to spin on a spindle but you need a refresher. Or maybe you just want to learn to spin for the sake of spinning!

Have you looked at all those beautiful yarns in yarn shops and have really wanted to learn how to create your own? Or maybe you just want to learn to spin for the sake of spinning!

Back to Basics: Spinning It Up a Notch with Elana Goodfellow

Do you already know how to spin but would like to take the next step? Are you intimidated by some of the fibre preps you see and need to conquer your fear? Maybe you have taught yourself how to spin and need some help filling in your knowledge gaps. Maybe you’re afraid of learning to spin finer yarn for fear you will not be able to spin those lovely bulky yarns any longer. This three hour class may be just what you need! 

Skill Building: Let's Spin Spirals with Elana Goodfellow

June 24, 2025, 6:00 - 9:00 pm

Have you dreamt of beautiful spiral yarns and wished you knew how to spin them? Learn the basic spiral yarn and variations of it as we demystify spinning spirals. We will cover what makes a good spiral yarn, techniques and tips that will help you spin spirals and variations that include the flame spiral and beaded spiral yarns.

Recurring Events

Yarn n' Yak

Bring a project to work on, visit with other fibre lovers, and show off some finished projects. If you are taking Saturday morning class, feel free to stay after to continue working on your project - we have a small fridge and microwave in the class area if you'd like to bring lunch, or there are several restraunts in the area.
